The first issue of the new Burning Bush 2 magazine is shaping up nicely and should be online early in January. We’ve got a really good selection of poets from Ireland, the UK and North America lined up. Some of the contributors are well-known and some of them you will not have heard of before. Some have published several collections while others are just starting out.
We think we’ve assembled a vibrant and eclectic mix of quality contemporary poetry. From the beginning of TBB2, we wanted to present a mixture of work by established writers, give them a chance to experiment even, and, at the same time, give up and coming writers a platform alongside them. We think it’s mutually beneficial.
As we mentioned in an earlier post, in the first issue we wanted to include as many poets as we could who had published in the original Burning Bush. Several former contributors answered the call, including Kevin Higgins, Patrick Chapman, Todd Swift, JT Menesini and Nuala Ní Chonchúir.
Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far. If you didn’t get in the first time, we encourage you to try again. We are always interested in seeing good new work. Any submissions received from now on will be considered for subsequent issues.
